Segun Amen – BA Economics ’05, Stanford University. Before forming CardinalPrep, Segun spent three years tutoring SAT and ACT prep courses with many of the top companies in San Jose and Palo Alto. He is a dedicated educator who has spent the last 9 years teaching Math and English courses at private educational institutions. While serving in the Peace Corps., Morocco, he instructed English to native Arabic and Berber speakers. He currently teaches in the Ravenswood School District. Segun is also an avid guitar player, composer and former Stanford University Fencer (2004 Western Regional Champions).

LukeLuke Rickford – BA English ’08, Stanford University. Luke began his college career at Harvard before transferring to Stanford to pursue a more flexible Creative Writing program. An avid reader with a keen interest in the mechanics of grammar and pedagogy, he has served a diverse group of students as an editor, tutor, SAT instructor, and research partner for 10+ years. He takes special pride in making sure every student has his or her specific needs heard. When not teaching or reading, Luke can be found on the Ultimate fields, chasing a Frisbee like a Labrador retriever.

Justin Ryu – BA Human Biology ’08, Stanford University. Justin graduated from Stanford University in 2008 with a BA in Human Biology, and a focus in Health and Human Performance. He has spent the past three years conducting research and organizing trials as a clinical specialist for a medical start-up company in the bay area. In high school, Justin was recipient of the National Merit Scholar Award and the prestigious Presidential Scholar Award. Because of his extensive experience with several different SAT preparatory courses as well as his knowledge of the path to a successful undergraduate career, Justin assists in structuring CardinalPrep so that it remains unique and most importantly, effective. Outside of work, Justin enjoys boxing and watching movies with friends.

Daniel Jacobs – BS Mechanical Engineering ’05, Stanford University. PhD Candidate in Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University. Daniel is a passionate instructor who has spent the last 9 years tutoring for private foundations and independently as an in-home Math and SAT tutor. He is currently a Teaching Assistant in the Stanford Mechanical Engineering Department. When not teaching, Daniel is completing his doctoral research in Robotics.

Dayna Muniz – BA Chicano Studies ’05 (with Honors), Stanford. MA Human Geography ’09, UC Berkeley. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Chicano Studies with a minor in Cultural and Social Anthropology, Dayna began her PhD in Human Geography at UC Berkeley. As a graduate student she received a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, a Ford Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, and a UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Fellowship. At UC Berkeley, she worked as a graduate representative in the admissions department, where she discovered a passion for admissions work. This passion combined with her experience and admissions/grant writing skills make her an ideal counselor for students applying to college.
